Straight To Video Russian Roulette
Amy reviews Shockorama’s masterpiece Skin Crawl. Rashoman-style (very loosely) telling of the story of a witch who is reincarnated and the story of her murder is revealed from multiple points of view.
Amy thought it was boring and might be improved with judicious editing. She would not recommend it.
The Question: In the film The Descent, what level does Juno say the cave system they’ll be spelunking through?
Answer: Andy wins with answer Level 2. Matt loses and must watch Vampires: Out For Blood.
Main Topic
Buffy the comic (aka Buffy Season 8). Andy liked it. Amy liked it. Freddy is optimistic. Matt thought it was too much like season four (the initiative season). One issue in, most of the crew is interested to see where the story goes. However, Andy doesn’t think the art is very good.
Dead Silence showed a lot of promise, but then really got lame very quickly. It was unintentionally funny. Dave laughed a lot. Ventriloquist lady takes out a heckler, the town takes care of the killer ventriloquist lady and then she returns to exact her revenge. A fairly predictable story. Donny Wahlberg is weird and funny. Again, unintentionally. Matt points out numerous odd plot points and the ridiculous ‘twists.’ Highly skippable.
David from Chicago emails a pitch from Stephen Hawking. Good Will Hunting 2: Evil Will Hunting. Sexy times follow as Stephen Hawking must defeat an Evil Will Hunting to save some hotties.
Mark from Tennessee announces that he’s also a podcaster at latelateshow.net. He’s got a short story.
Des from Canada calls to wish Matt a happy birthday and plays some scary audio. Disturbing. He also updates us on the cat, dog and old lady next door. Please do not mess with Des’s lawn.
Gina writes to say that she agrees with Kelley about Laurel K. Hamilton. Hamilton simply cannot write.
Kangas thought that Kelley was way too hard on Hamilton.
Shaggy drunk dials the show for St. Paddys. He listened to the podcast with people at work. He also doesn’t support the Porner but does like some horror on TV like Supernatural.
Patrick has suggestions for the Porner. Andy declares Patrick is a favourite listener.
Orion16 leaves a message asking about a Dawn of the Dead compare/contrast and Monster Man 2, and a special scary clown episode.
Phleghm calls the show “Night of the Living Crab Cake.” He talks about his trip to the Caribbean and sings a song called “Buffalo Gargoyle.”
Everyone drank too much to mark Matt’s birthday and St. Paddy’s day. Matt had a ‘pretty awesome’ birthday.
The cat attacked special guest Dave.
Amy disses Tennessee.
Andy is especially gassy. He also does a Showgirls impression. He also hates Tyra Banks.
Show goes out on “Buffalo Soldier” by Bob Marley.
